He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Diehl earned his undergraduate degree from University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign. He earned his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine, and continued on to complete his internship and residency in general surgery at Emory, as well as a fellowship in breast oncology.
Since joining our practice and the Piedmont Clinic, Dr. Diehl has become involved in several committees. He currently serves as the surgical representative on the Scientific Review Committee, which helps determine the clinical trials in which Piedmont participates. He also serves as the Chair of the Operating Room Satisfaction Committee, which works to ensure a great experience for our surgical patients, and as a member of the Perioperative Governance Council for Piedmont Atlanta.
Dr. Diehl grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois, where his family owned a strawberry farm. As an Atlanta resident, he enjoys exploring the vibrant Atlanta restaurant scene, baking various treats for the office staff to enjoy, and taking advantage of our wonderful airport to travel the world. He also enjoys spending time with his two very spoiled rescue dogs- Wembley, a Westie-Dachshund mix, and Pippa, a maltipoo.
