MD, FACS
After 38 deeply fulfilling years in medicine, I retired from Atlanta Breast Care on March 19,2025. I began my practice at Piedmont Hospital in 1987, having been born there and first inspired to pursue surgery while working in the operating room at age 16. My early years where spent in general and laparoscopic surgery before I turned my full attention to breast cancer care, founding Atlanta Breast Care and focusing on the compassionate, expert treatment of women and men facing breast disease.
The practice of medicine and surgery has brought me immense joy and satisfaction, and I am profoundly grateful to all who supported me along the way---patients, colleagues, staff, and friends. I loved seeing my patients and will miss those interactions more than words can express. Rosemary and I now live full time in Blue Ridge, Georgia and maintain an apartment in Atlanta. We are enjoying this next chapter of life, spending meaningful time with our family and friends. I've found new joy in volunteering as an assistant to a local tennis pro, teaching young students the game, and I remain active as the Director of the Barber Breast Cancer Fund and as an advisor to the Helen S. Carlos High Risk Clinic.
We are thankful to God for His blessings and guidance, and continue to hope and pray for the well-being of all those that I had the privilege to care for. To my patients: thank you for your trust and for allowing me to walk with you during some of life's most difficult and meaningful moments. You are now in the extraordinary hands of the staff and expert surgeons at Atlanta Breast Care--truly among the best in the nation. I wish you and your families continued health, happiness, and peace. Please know that you are deeply loved by the Atlanta Breast Care family.
