Katie Shields is a certified physician assistant who joined Atlanta Breast Care in the spring of 2021. She is originally from Arkansas, where she attended the University of Arkansas and earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and Political Science. She obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies locally at Mercer University and has since enjoyed calling Atlanta home. Katie has a special interest in oncology as her mother is a Stage IV cancer survivor. As a part of her medical training, she completed a clinical rotation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to joining our team, Katie gained experience working in urgent care.

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband enjoy cooking new vegetarian dishes together, walking their corgi on local trails, and traveling.
